November (Malom) Plotting Post
Hello all! Thank you for your patience. Apps are now processed and the next event will be starting in a few days! Feel free to use this entry for plotting purposes as you please, and use the Mod Question thread below for any questions.

A log will be posted on the day the event begins, but characters are welcome to create their own entries as well.

❥ PROMPT I: Rebuilding Effort

The magic barrier over the hole that unknown monster punched through Havenwell's wall is repaired, stopping the onslaught and encouraging any other nightmares that lurk outside to move on and away, but the hole itself remains. Throughout the month of Malom, robot natives are working tirelessly to gather bricks and stone and patch the breach, but they could use some help. Work together with other offworlders and natives alike to repair the wall and be rewarded with a handsome bump to the Dora in your bank account. They need all sorts of help, from clearing away the dead bodies of the spider-like creatures for cremation, to retrieving and hauling stone for the wall, to actually slotting the heavy blocks into place to cement them back together.

Outside the barrier, now clearly visible through the hole, a storm rages on, obscuring the view of the world beyond it. Gray and black clouds whip against the invisible barrier, and occasional debris slams into it, causing the impact site to light up with silver, pink, blue, or white hues before it fades away again. It seems even without monsters, the world outside is as inhospitable as was rumored.

Work together or take a break along the base of the wall and get to know your fellow offworlders a little better. It's going to take a while before this mess is cleaned up.

❥ PROMPT II: Air Sickness

Those who worked at or were near the breach in the wall for any extended period of time will notice that, over time, it gets harder to breathe. Then they begin to feel feverish, even if they don't have flesh bodies or are immune to disease. Their bodies ache and groan and it gets harder to move about without help. Once the natives notice, they set up a recovery area away from where the breach occurred: a giant tent with cots and pillows, thick rugs and blankets to keep the chill away. Unfortunately, they don't have medicines available to treat flesh bodied people, so they're at a loss of what to do otherwise. The priests gather anyone who is ill and brings them here...which is when a curious thing occurs.

While conventional medicines and healing spells seem to have no effect on the illness, staying in contact with another person alleviates the symptoms. After a period of contact with another person or persons, the fever breaks and it's like you were never sick at all.

Return to the wall, however, and you'll notice your symptoms coming back with a vengeance after a few days. It seems that making regular trips between the wall and this recovery tent is the only way to keep working. At least it's an easy fix so long as you're not a germaphobe.

❥ PROMPT III: A Tasty(?) Reward

Toward the end of the month as the hole in the wall is completely repaired and the risk of illness declines, a message is sent to all the offworlders' communication devices. Those who choose to open it will find a very official looking message from The Havenwell Council that reads:

Greetings, Saviours of Havenwell!
We of the Havenwell Council greet you and wish to express our eternal gratitude for your valiant efforts to keep our wonderful home safe. Without you, we would not have survived this terrible onslaught. As such, we wish to express our gratitude in a more concrete form. Your emissary, Magolor, has been in contact with this venerable Council and has brought to our attention that your greatest concern is for the food available. We apologize that due to our inability to taste we have been unable to supply you with satisfactory meals.

To that end, we invite you to work with our scientists to improve upon the taste of currently available offerings from our replicators. Please come to the Northern Research Tower (map included) at any time this month to sample what our replicators can produce and give us feedback on their flavour and textures. We ask that you be as specific as possible in your criticisms so we may improve upon your general quality of life. Please feel free to bring as many friends as you wish.

Havenwell Council, Community Liaisons

Those who take the invitation will arrive at the Northern Research Tower and be taken directly to the 40th floor, where a large banquet hall has been laid out. Five rectangular tables, over 5 meters long each, stretch down the room, creating aisles for people to walk down. At the far end are several high round tables, covered in white cloth, and high round stools for those who wish them. The tables are overflowing with food, much like the welcome dinner, but at each table and scattered throughout the room are scientist robots with arm bands that read "Experiment 73" in that peculiar Aellyn script you saw during your time at the Archives. They invite you to taste the foods - both raw and cooked - and to give your very honest opinions.

Enjoy the food, help them improve the flavours, and walk the room to talk with the others who have come. Those who participate will receive a small synthetic fruit basket to take home with them on their first visit. Feel free to come back as often as you like, however! Each time, they'll be changing and adjusting the food available so your first and last visit may be very different. Perhaps that strawberry actually even tastes sweet, finally.

❥ PROMPT IV: A Virtual Spa

The VR cafes are uncharacteristically quiet while the rebuilding effort goes on, but there are still those who come to plug in to unwind after a day of intensive labor. And what better way to unwind than with a hot bath, right? Since the people of Havenwell can't actually submerge themselves in water, they're doing the next best thing: going to a virtual hot spring. There are several types to choose from and despite being digital, their calming and soothing effects on the body seem very real. Choose from:

The Classic Outdoors: a rock lined hot spring with natural rock floors and steamy mineral infused waters nestled in the mountains. All around you is beautiful greenery like a sweeping pine and low fragrant bushes. The serene air and the calm forest is only occasionally broken by the sound of a wooden pipe thudding hollowly against a rock at a steady interval or the sound of birdsong off in the trees. The relaxing atmosphere is enough to set even the tightest wound nerves at ease.
The Marbled Columns: white and painted marble columns lead to a series of different shaped baths with statues of the gods pouring water into them. Each bath has a different healing property, which is clearly marked with a plaque at the rim of each: good for your circulation, your bones, your aches and pains, even acne and metabolic rate. The columns support a beautiful open ceiling that shows the perfectly blue sky overhead dotted with the occasional cloud.
The Steamy Sauna: though seemingly austere in their white tile and deep blue bath basins, the air here is thick and steamy and the baths are deep with hand-rails leading down steps to help you enter. All around the basins are stone or wooden benches with towels laid down for those who wish to simply sit and let the warm air open their lungs. If you get too hot? Grab a bucketful of cold water from one of the freestanding tubs and douse yourself to get a shock and cool off.
The Milk-and-Honey: a beautifully tiled bath with a large shallow rectangular basin. The surrounding walls and ceilings have blue, white, and gold geometric designs laid out with loving care in pleasant designs that ease the mind. The bath water here is filled with a concoction of milk and honey to soothe and smooth the skin, filling the air with a pleasing sweet scent. The effects of these baths on a person's skin is said to make them glow from the inside out for at least a day after bathing.
The Theme Park: the first thing to greet you is the comically oversized bottle of red wine tipped to pour a continuous stream of red liquid into the large crystalline bath basin. The smell of wine is heavy but pleasant in the air and the crystalline basin is round and shaped like a wine glass. Climb up the glass steps and give yourself a good old soak in the red water. You might even find that taking a dip here gives you a heady happiness that lasts all day. And if it feels like you're a little drunk while there? That has to be your imagination! ...Maybe.

Hot springs are great to experience with friends to deepen that feeling of skinship you have with each other, and several Havenwell natives are doing just that. But what about those who don't have a friend to log in with? Don't worry! The game will randomly select another player from this or another facility and match you together. Isn't that nice? We're sure it is! Who doesn't want to talk to someone else while naked, right?

Anyway heck yeah come at me! Magolor will probably be around doing the following:

Helping with the wall efforts, mostly by clearing spider corpses, since he can do that effortlessly and so it's a much better deal for the money than hauling bricks. Look how tiny and sad he is :( don't make him do that :(
Absolutely getting ill, because he spent some time holding up the barrier during the event, so he was near the breach long enough between that and these rebuilding efforts to fall victim; COME CUDDLE HIM BETTER
Of course he's going to go to the banquet, since he was mentioned by name, and will be pompous about it but also there to gather more information from people about what he should take to the city officials next month; he'll probably also be doing a network post about this sometime soon!

As for the hot springs, Magolor is Not About nudity, and doesn't like to advertise what he looks like under all that clothing, but I might do it to him anyway, I'm undecided. He is in the business of theme parks and checking out that wine could . . . happen.

REBUILDING
Kai will inevitably help a little bit, the breach was close enough to where he usually hangs out that it is uh Concerning. Vianca is absolutely helping! As much as she can help!! IT'S HER TIME TO BE HELPFUL. Yes she is very tiny but hot damn look at all these rocks and bricks she is hauling WOW. She wants very strongly to help. Will help.

AIR SICKNESS
Time to also absolutely get wrecked for trying to help so much. The flipside to being very small is that Vianca is also very easy to just pick up and take to bed so please pick her up and take her to bed before she sneaks her way out of the tent. Though it is also very likely that she'll just. Crawl up on to your cot with you once she finds out cuddles make people feel better cuz THAT IS ALSO HELPING!!!

Kai might get mildly sick but more likely he's going to just drag people to sick bay and sit their asses down.

WOW FOOD
Vianca... doesn't really need to eat so she won't. Really. Be here too much, probably. Kai's not gonna say no to free food though and gosh good job Magolor wow, pats on the head for you, wow.

This one's cute but I don't have any initial ideas for either kid. I might just poke around at these prompts/wild cards but if you. Want one of mine. Waggles eyebrows into the sky.

Rebuilding;

Lunafreya probably won't be too involved with rebuilding the wall. Not because she doesn't wish to be of use or help, but because this is a girl who has unfortunately never done manual labor a single day in her life. She will, however, offer to heal anyone who may accidentally injure themselves at any point. It's what she can do - and do pretty well - to make herself useful!

Air Sickness;

Since her normal healing won't work, she will instead be giving out free affection! Need someone to hold your hand and make you soup? She's your girl. Would a hug make you feel better? Oracle hugs are the absolute best kind. She can also offer the goodest girl and bestest boy in the forms of Pryna and Umbra is anyone wants a doggo cuddle while they're waiting to feel better. She will probably get mildly sick from being close to the wall and also trying to take care of people but she'll be totally fine.

A Tasty And Not At All Suspicious Reward;

Luna will, of course, be more than willing to taste test whatever she can and give her thoughts.

Virtual Spa;

All of this sounds completely amazing and someone should absolutely drag her there and teach her what this word relaxation means because she currently does not know. Especially the theme park and milk and honey portions. Please. Someone. Anyone. Teach her how to take care of herself.

Other;

There will probably be a lot of cast stuff going down as well but Lunafreya is super easy to get along with and definitely needs friends. If you want anything specific feel free to hit me up at

Verstael doing grunt work when there's plenty of other people capable of it? He has more important things to do.

He will offer aid to those in need. When it comes to hugging, though, he will be more reserved. So awkward. People are free to attempt hugging, though.

A Tasty Reward
This is Verstael's jam! Let him at those replicators! He can tell them all about making delicious meat. He will be demanding to work on the science side of things. There is no other better suited to lab grown food than him.

And be very suspicious of the Experiment Number.

He sees the VR cafes as an attempt to distract them from very important reality. He does not participate in them.

Rebuilding

Rin has... no concept of building beyond that it's a thing that involves... stacking bricks??? And .... wood??? But she isn't afraid of hard work and will be quite happy pottering around carrying stuff for people.

Air sickness

She is always down for hugs man

No other plans with her at this stage!

Rebuilding Efforts/Air Sickness: Will may attempt to help in the rebuilding efforts briefly, may even get a bit sick himself--mostly just if any of y'all want to play with that?

Otherwise, he's going to realize basically immediately that he needs to be doing their Real Job (TM) here, and spend all day in the tent cuddling the bejeezus out of everyone who shows up sick. If he sees any of these dummies free roaming and attempting to hide how awful they're feeling, he may also attack them with cuddles; him being an empath means he has an extremely easy excuse to see riiiiiiiight past their bullshit, no matter how flawless their act is.

A Tasty Reward: Banquets and parties are awesome! Definitely gonna kick around here and taste test All The Things!111 He may even be inspired to get back to those baking/cooking experiments he was doing a while back, trying to get used to these new ingredients. Who wants to try Poffins? And maybe Pokéblocks or something?

A Virtual Spa: Will will totally be down for this kind of decadence TBH~ And theme parks sound fun too! He might even be happy to give people a massage if they want? He doesn't even mind hanging out and chatting naked while soaking in the pools--that is, naked except for the mask. That's staying on even when he's in the water and wearing literally nothing else. I'm down for playing with all the potential settings/effects, including the wine one.

Rebuilding Effort/Air Sickness: Kiwi will be helping the building effort by singing to boost morale and do some magical supply movement, so it's gonna be apparent pretty fast when they can't breathe and get sick. They might try to resist rest, please snuggle them if only to keep them down.

A Tasty(?) Reward: Kiwi will be really excited to help taste test food and help tweak the replicators. They'll do their best to explain what to change without much experience with cooking.

A Virtual Spa: Kiwi would need to be convinced by someone else to come to the spa with them. They'll be in a bathing suit, but it would be a good time to notice the lightning scars on their side, if someone were to be curious about that little tidbit. I'm also trying to decide how they might respond to alcohol, since they have a really extreme reaction to caffeine, so why not the other side of the mood-affecting spectrum?

FTLOG Someone bring this fool's paranoia down because he needs a day of spa and relaxation SO BADLY. VR means leaving his physical body incredibly vulnerable and that freaks him out.

Prompt I

He won't really be helping with rebuilding the wall, he doesn't have any actual skill to lend to the effort, but he will run food and water to people who do. That way they can just rest when they need.

Prompt II

Undecided. Helping keep people supplied at the wall MIGHT get him sick but he might not be there consistently enough to end up ill. This prompt will depend on interest and CR input <3

Prompt 3

He'll probably peek his head into this because he was learning how to cook in both his precious games and he tries to help Undertaker. So this helps him a lot. It's definitely a selfish reason to do it but it helps everyone else too. So win-win, right? Plus a fruit basket!

Prompt 4

Wow.

So he is going to hit up the virtual spa. Especially with the new upgrades. And then be horrified and incredibly embarrassed by nudity because Victorian England Sensibilities that he still can't quite kick.

She's definitely helping at the wall. Terra would probably be more help with his strength but he's not here so Master Aqua it is! She'll use her magic where she can to aid everyone else

Prompt II

She's getting sick but this isn't stopping her. If anything, he'll fret over everyone else first until someone kind of throws her over their shoulder and drops her onto a comfortable pile to rest.

Prompt 3

Oh yeah, she's helping here! Especially since she's trying to put together a cookbook for everyone there. So learning more about food on this world? Can only help. That and helping adjust the taste of things so the cookbook is actually possible.

Prompt 4

She'll be shy about the spa in general but oh boy, does she need to just RELAX. In fact, she'll probably try all the spa scenarios. So plenty of chances to have a soak with anyone/everyone!

-will be assisting with rebuilding! he doesn't have loads of muscles to cart things around but he does have magical hammerspace to do that for him.

-this means he will probably end up sick and therefore a bit whiny about it. come pet his hair and tell him he's very cool as he sniffles. (or just tease him yolo)

-he'll go to the tower to devour all the meat no veggies allowed. unless luna tells him to. she has his pants now.

-he digs the VR so he'll be checking out the spas. expect to find him most often in either Marbled Columns or the Theme Park... at least, he'd check out the latter expecting something completely different. then he'd trade in for Classic Outdoors, because noooope--

-will also help with the wall, but after her last bout of sickness, she'll proceed with a bit more caution. She might also make use of her spectral lich form when she has to be near the wall on occasion, though, if anyone wants to play with her incorporealness and get a fun surprise by trying to touch her. She'd hide the appearance with an illusion, but that's only by sight.
her primary job will be levitating materials around, since she is but a squishy wizard, so she'll work until she runs out of spell slots.
edit OH AND SHE CAN BURN ALL THE THINGS if things need burning. like spiders. ew.

-since I've had her get sick before, I won't be doing much with that, but she'll be sure to visit her chums in the infirmary and maybe bring around some snacks. if you're nice to her she might even cuddle up.

-as a food snob and chef she will be all over the tower potlucks. she's making a long list of criticisms to throw at their hosts, and she's happy to accept your contributions for it. it might be nice to have a good sit-down dinner with some friends, though!

-she is going to yeet herself into every single spa, naked or otherwise, with zero shame whatsoever. brace yourselves for the cannonball splash.

Reyson will definitely help with rebuilding as it wouldn't be too difficult to transport some materials in his heron form. He won't stay too long or too close to the barrier because he'll fall sick pretty soon, collapsing regularly because he has all the stamina of a baby.

I would like him to try the spa but that'd be hard for a guy with wings.

i.+ii. rebuilding + illness

- Honerva was pretty much doing this sort of organizing before her impromptu exploration, and of course when she started feeling better she went right back over there. Her assisting and organizing mostly involves moving stuff around by levitating it with magic, whether it's wall materials or moving monsters; and organizing the materials gathered/sorting it via its quality and use, assessing what may need to be improved/repaired/transformed or whatnot, she has an eye for these things.

- And also keeping an occasional glance to what might be going on outside the barrier and whatnot.

- Of course this just means she'll get sick again which is a bit unavoidable. She is not used to this, it sucks! please assist.

iii. Food

- if she's here at all it's because she's been dragged to be social among others in a setting that isn't being sick by the barrier, so fine, it works. Otherwise she doesn't feel that she would have much to contribute; the only foods she's really familiar with is whatever Taako or Lup have prepared, so she's used to things already being altered to "taste correctly", and she doesn't really particularly eat that much anyway, so the effort is a bit lost on her.

- The fact that they all have an experiment number tagged onto them is likely the most curious draw... the implications that perhaps their scientists were still laboring on despite themselves.

REBUILDING EFFORT

She'll be doing her best to help out here however she can! Manual labour is her forté.

AIR SICKNESS

She just got over being sick, so she's going to be in full-on denial mode about being sick until she can't deny it anymore. At which point she is going to whine to and invade the space of her #it'scomplicated Roommate.

Then she'll end up getting sick again because this sort of quest is her jam. Despite having the heart of a healer and being very strongly attuned to healing magicks, she 1) can't remember that at all, and 2) it wouldn't help anyway. And since she isn't about that Touching People thing she'll keep her distance from the medical area after initially checking them out.

TASTY (!) REWARD

She will absolutely be there no questions asked. She will probably be the worst person ever to be a taste tester since if it's even halfway edible and isn't rotting then it's decent food to her.

Because it's free, she will actually be indulging her whole appetite, which means tiny 4'8" woman stuffing her face with enough food to feed five grown-ass men is a go.

VIRTUAL SPA

Era is not about that virtual life, thanks. She did that in Deerington and there were worrisome side effects (if you die in the game you die irl!!!!!!111 kind of thing), so she wouldn't risk it. Besides, she is more about actual experiences, not virtual ones (even if it would be a wonderful escape...)

As always, her Carbuncle will be out and about. Instead of its usual blue this month it will be a lovely shade of gold, and slightly larger.

Rebuilding - He'll be helping out. It's only right, and he also needs to keep himself busy. Which means:

Air Sickness - He's gonna get sick. And since being in contact makes it all better, he figures he can just work, and then cuddle/hold hands/whatever, and get back to it. It's like ... being healed in battle, right? Go team!

Food - He will help out with the taste testing, sure.

Experiment 73... He's seen that before, right? Oh. Oooooh.

Spa - Hells yeah. Who's going to come soak with him? (Does it gotta be naked, though?)

Rebuilding

Goofy will be more than happy to do some heavy lifting! But... it might be best if someone keeps an eye on him as he does it. Clumsiness is one of his key characteristics, after all.

Air Sickness

And as a result of the above, Goofy will be getting sick often. It'll take him a while to put two and two together, though. (And another two that company cures!) So he might need some help there, or at least being clued in.

A Tasty Reward

No complaints from him, he'll be eating everything and anything that can fit in his belly. Let him introduce you to the beauty of sea-salt ice cream.

Virtual Spa

These are just going to be various places for him to nap, let's be honest. Here's hoping he doesn't drown.

Rebuilding Effort
Both of my kids are here to help!! Shinji hangs out around that area a lot as it is, so it'd probably be good to actually, like, help fix the hole up. He's not like super strong or anything, but he's gonna do his best! Tamaki's definitely sturdier, and this isn't exactly the kind of work he normally does, but he'll be a good boy and put his muscles to work \o/

Air Sickness
They're both gonna be subject to this as a result RIP boys. Shinji is uh less likely to admit he needs help, and Tamaki will probably be afraid that he's DYING (feverish? Hard to breathe?? That sounds exceptionally bad!!!!) but the latter will at least be so much more receptive to the treatment for it. He is here for your hugging needs.

A Tasty??? Reward
oh wow good job emissary magolor!!! Shinji's very interested in testing out some ingredients and meals, quality or otherwise, and Tamaki's just really food motivated in general so hey cool free meal thanks a bunch

Shinji hasn't really been interested in the VR cafes in general but this. could. possibly. sway him to give them a try. I don't have a lot of concrete ideas for this prompt for him, but it's not totally off the table. Tamaki, on the other hand, totally wants to hang out in a fancy spa he's very here for this experience!

Rebuilding
Lance is def gonna be helping out. Moreso with the actual masonry work, because look okay those spider creatures freaked him the hell out. He's been encountering alien creatures for years but give him a break okay. So feel free to hit him up during this!

Air Sickness
Because Lance is going to be doing a lot of rebuilding work, he's definitely going to be sick, and very pouty about it. And scared if he can't figure out how to get better. Please come snuggle the poor boy. He'll also be happy to snuggle others once he figures out what's going on.

A Tasty (?) Reward
Food is a v important thing. Lance is going to be going nearly every day. He's already a Professional Taste Tester after so much time in the past with Hunk, okay? Even if the food isn't completely on point, it's not space goo, so Lance will be happy to devour it. Watch this skinny boi eat his weight and then some. Envy his metabolism.

A Virtual Spa
YES YES YES 100 TIMES YES. Look, spas are Lance's jam, okay? He's all about that kind of self care. Dude wears face masks at night on a regular basis, at the least. Even though it's VR, he's going to be all over it, and quite frequently at that. He's going to live in those baths and saunas, okay. While he isn't going to necessarily be running around everywhere stark naked, he's not shy either, so being in the nude in the baths is perfectly fine by him. Lillie will happily help with the taste testing and offer whatever tips she can! And while she isn't physically strong enough to rebuild a wall, she will totally hang around the recovery tent to offer hugs and cuddles once she knows that's how to heal people of their illness. Finally feeling useful, for once!

Gobbet will ALSO happily be taste testing, although with her low standards she's already going to be like "not bad for synthetic food, i've had worse" no matter what she just put in her mouth. She'll also be in the spa, relaxing and literally not having a care in the world. She will 100% not be fussed over being naked in a hot spring with a stranger. Just. Don't get super grabby with her and she'll talk to you as if you're sitting across the kitchen table.
